Chromebooks love Ms. Abalos

Coming back to school from the new year always brings many stories to our campus. Our very own Ms. Abalos (Grade 5) definitely had a great story to share with us here at SMA.

One of the gifts she had received was a new Samsung Chromebook. A Chromebook is a simple, secure, laptop that handles common tasks like browsing web pages, checking email, watching movies, listening to music easily at a very low price.

Her experience with Chromebooks made her shine as the expert in the room. She shared with the SMA Social Media Team that her friends and family marveled at how easy it was to use. Ms Abalos simply logged into the brand new out of the box device. It began to customize itself by loading her custom wallpaper, all her favorite websites, an onscreen shortcuts. For the rest of the evening people were just in awe of how simple the device was to use for other things like going on Facebook, checking bank accounts, booking flights, and chatting with family through the built-in camera.

We asked Ms. Abalos what gave her the confidence to answer all the questions? She stated having the experience with her SMA provided Asus Chromebook made the process so simple. She remembered the basics demonstrated to her during the new teacher orientation process on how to use a Chromebook and her SMA G Suite for Education account. This training, her determination, and patience allowed her to shine in this 'teachable' moment.
